How we started
From One Backyard to All of Florida
Coastal Outdoor & Flame was founded by Rich Bartlett, a New Smyrna Beach local with a lifelong passion for shaping outdoor spaces. Before building his first outdoor kitchen, Rich spent years running a successful landscaping company — giving him a deep understanding of how outdoor environments function, flow, and withstand Florida’s coastal climate. In 2021, Rich helped a nearby barbecue supply shop design and build a custom outdoor kitchen for one of their customers. That project became the spark. By combining his landscaping expertise with the craftsmanship of outdoor kitchen construction, Rich created a seamless approach to outdoor living — one where every kitchen, patio, and fire feature feels intentional, durable, and built for real Florida lifestyles. Word spread quickly. What began as a single project grew into a wave of referrals, and Coastal Outdoor & Flame evolved into a full‑service outdoor living brand serving communities across Central Florida. Today, every build reflects Rich’s hands‑on experience, coastal‑inspired design, and commitment to delivering outdoor spaces that feel personal, premium, and built to last.
